WE ARE A FAMILY OF KINGDOM-MINDED MISSIONALLY MOTIVATED CHURCHES Committed to Amplifying the Hope + Life of Jesus by equipping leaders in local churches around the world
In the 2019-2020 school year, we saw God move in some big ways at our local school, Point Loma High School, through Faith Club. Faith club is a student lead club that met Thursdays at lunchtime. There, students gathered together to play a game, hear a testimony or word, and enjoy some free food and time to hang out. We were able to partner with a local Chick-fil-A and within a few weeks of the club launching in September, we quickly had to move from meeting in a traditional classroom to meeting in the school’s theatre (the same room Captivate held it’s services in before purchasing our church building)because we had pushed past max capacity in the classroom and were having up to several hundred students coming every week! One week, after the speaker shared his testimony, there was an invitation to accept Jesus and we had over 15 students respond saying they wanted to give their life to God. 15! It’s worth noting that in previous years the average attendance of the faith club was about 15 students a week, so to see this happen in one day literally blew us away in how God was moving through the hearts of students. It was truly amazing to see what God did this last year in the local schools and we can’t wait to see what he does in the hearts of students next year!
Central Wesleyan Church
There are so many ways we could highlight outreach at Central, but the most relevant would be the response to the COVID 19 crisis. Right away Central Missions focused on providing meals to kids in the Harbor Village, Meadow Lanes, Crown Pointe, and Lincoln Estates complexes. We then expanded to provide meals to a variety of families throughout out community. Because of your generosity and food donations, we were able to provide over 20,000 meals to families in Holland.

La Roca
Last year at La Roca we engaged our congregation into an Evangelism training called Explosion. Its primary goal is to equip Christians to engage others in conversations about the Bible, morality, and salvation, with a goal of leading people to saving faith. We have seen people come to Christ through this method of Evangelism. I remember when one gentleman got out of prison and was approached by one of our trainees, he gave his life to the Lord, got baptized and it is a faithful server to the Lord. Even though this man lost his marriage because of his past life, he is on fire for the Lord, and he is always asking when we will be meeting again as a congregation.
The Local Church: GR
Fall 2019 before school started, we hosted a Back to School Carnival at Ken-O-Sha Elementary, our adopted school. One of the things that KOS has dealt with over the years is struggling to get families out to the registration night. This is a big deal for families and teachers to connect and get the year off to a good start. We brainstormed some ways that we might be able to help encourage families to come out for this night and make it fun. We threw a big carnival with food, games, inflatables, face paint, etc. Families went through registration and then were able to head out to the carnival. This was a great way to engage with the families and staff at Ken-O-Sha and get the year off to a great start!
Overflow Church
When the COVID-19 pandemic began to affect our community, Overflow sprang into action by providing meals for local students and families. We handed out, on average, 650 meals per week distributed 8,000 meals by the end of May. This service has created new relationships between the staff and community members, provided for practical needs, and given the church a way to be a light in the midst of chaos.
Redeemer City Church
Halloween can be a major dividing point between our community and the church. This past Halloween, Redeemer City Church participated in a City Wide Trick or Treat Event in Downtown Tampa Park, “”River Walk Trick or Treat”.
There, Redeemer servant leaders passed out 5000 Gospel Coloring books to the children and families in our city.
ZEAL
One of our biggest outreaches this year was our Silent Disco Night, Christmas Experience. We decided to go a little out of the box and try something no one in Jamaica had seen or done before. We rented a night club on a Sunday night and invited not only our regular attenders but two of the local universities to join us for a silent disco Christmas party. Every person who entered received a pair of headphones that was used interactively throughout the experience for the teaching, worship and a silent disco Christmas party at the end of the night. We had over 300 people in attendance, over 25 gave their lives to Christ and over 85 people who came to one of our events for the first time. It truly was one of our highlights for the year!
